excess slime coat

i just got 2 discus today from interstate, one has come out of the bag with some fin damage (im pretty sure it will heal) but also they have a bit of excess slime coat coming off there body, is this normal?

i was going to add salt, would this be a good thing to do?

yes. :-)
rock or cooking salt at the standard 1teaspoon per 40 litres rule... will help with slime coat production and help them de-stress a little....

yea youl be seein some pics sometime next week, just letting them settle in. im so excited an pleased with them, i was just a bit worried about the slime coat thats all. i added the salt in this mornin an there doesnt seem to be any slime coat floating around or any comin off there body.

Keep up good water changes. They should settle down quickly.
