Yeah agreed !

Brew I dont mean to be offensive, but the Albino RGD's only flaw is the protruding forehead (obviously their shape well improve as the strain develops).

Those normal RGD's equals SEX-EEEE. I wonder if they can get imported into Oz.

The protruding forehead isn't too bad and I do like the one as per attached picture. It is an intermediate albino with a straight forehead.

DR V,

Those RGD's look a little different to what I have and what LR has. They seem to be very pinkish in colour - with beautifully coloured eyes and great finnage.

Mine in comparison is great shape and grows fast - but is more dark orange in colour, without a uniform eye colour (as yet, but should develop)

I have no idea who imports them in Australia.
The RGD's came from Wayne Ng, they were purchased in February/2006 at the size of 2" from mouth to the end of the tail, present size 4.5 to 5" and still growing.
Thank you all.

Hi Ronny,
You don't need any suitcases as I have some special size suitcase that could fit a styrofoam box in it, good for 24 - 2" discus.
Which strain do you like, I could arrange with my buddy to import some for you.

Hi Sanie,
I don't breed fish anymore, had enough and what I have are for my collection only unless some newer strains are in the market. Too busy playing golf, fishing in the Fall and attending discus convention.

I think that the genetics play a fair part in such lovely fish!! but, when you say "nutrition", as a matter of interest, what do you feed?

thanks, Lesley

Hi Lesley,
I do feed a variety of food to the discus.
1) I do make my own mixture by using 4 parts of either shrimp or prawns, 3 parts of of either tilapia fish or cod, 2 parts of either beefheart or round eye steak and 1 part of spirulina flakes including multi-vitamins. The mixture is mixed in a food processor.
2) Hikari bio-pure frozen blood worms
3) Hikari frozen brine shrimp
4) Earth worm or "Omega 1" cichlid flakes
5) Glass worms
