Hi all.

I'm planning a planted tank (6'x2'x2') and was wondering if anyone has had success using limestone. I realise this partictular rock will affect the pH, but I really like the look with pool filter sand, typical for cichlid tank. What other rocks are there that are inert but have the same light coloured effect?

Thanks,

Dwayne

Be very careful with rocks in aquariums. Sterlise by boiling, and avoid white rocks as they can really harden your water - consult lfs first.
Discus are so beutiful, noone will even notice the rocks anyway.

Hi Dwayne

You can get light coloured river stones that IME don't affect the PH at all - the smooth round ones.

Limestone will harden the water & raise the PH

Cheers
