about Hagen test kit!

Hello everyone:

I have a Hagen Nitrates test kit...

I have heard people saying only use liquid 1 and 2 will give you the nitrite reading.....but if you add in the liquid 3...you have the nitrates reading.

Is that true? if so ,,,i will save so much money!

yes it does. If you have used the dip strips you will notice that the nitrite and Nitrate can be tested together as the chemicals will produce foul results. Ammonia will not though.
