Which brands of peat have people found to be most effective to lower pH??

Interested in either specialised aquatic or the garden variety?

TIA

I found that the organic Sphagnum peat works well for me, which I buy in a 107 l bale from Canadian Tire (a large hardware etc. chain store). Just make absolutely certain that your peat doesn't contain any additives; the little styrofoam balls, fertilizer, or some such.

Hi Steph,

Canadian Sphagnum peat moss is the go. I think the brand name of mine is Sunshine, just be careful as the ammonia levels vary from bag to bag, some have none but some I've used take it to .25 and above.
