As newbie in the hobby its my first summer that I have to face keeping an aquarium. The prob is that as the summer is coming the temps are increasing affecting more and more the temp of the tank. It reaches 33 degrees from the normal 30 that I run it and its only May! Most of you guys are from Australia so you may know a way to keep the temp constant. I wish that I donot have to install an air condition at the room that I keep them  Too expensive for me!

You could always try a small fan pointing at the surface of the water, this will cause some evaporation and work like an evaporative cooler.

It might help a bit, and it's a cheap option.

I`m from perth where the temp often reaches 40c in summer, high thirties is normal. I have never done anything to cool a tank and never had any problems. as long as they are not in direct or radiant sunlight.
losing temp rather than gaining is generally the main problems.
having said that, it does depend on the fish you are keeping.
try to keep the tank well protected from radiant heat is my best advice (i.e. away from windows, doorways etc ), and remove or raise hoods and cover glass that trap temps.
