I went to my LFS this afternoon and asked him how he heated his water and said using a plastic kettle of course balacning out hot vs cold, bu then he said you can use an immerseble heater or something like that and it looks something like the inside of a kettle i assume that is the ring looking bit or something he also said you could try microwaving ur water. i was wandering what people use to heat their water and if you can use any of the above methods.

PS i do use a heater but it takes to long

Thanks Tim

i would also like to know what type of paint people use on the outside of breeding tanks, because im probably going to bunnings tomorrow.

If you have a water barrel just add a basic 300w heater in that and put it on a timer.
If I want to do my water changes at say 10 in the morning set the timer to turn the heater on at 5-6am.
Works for me and you save on electric bills as you only heat the water for a few hours rather than all day every day.
