Hello from sunny Frankston on the bay. Soooo pleased I found this site. For more than 30 years (oops....is my age showing) I have been keeping discus. Back in the dim dark days when we all fed live tubifex and wondered why our fish didnt thrive. :( So much more information now and knowledgable people to ask when we have a problem.
I have recently retired so I now have more time to devote to my beloved fish.

Current set up:- 8x2x2 (yup - 900 lts.) grow out tank with approx 40 discus of various ages including juveniles and non breeding pairs including some 8 year old marlboro reds (my passion) turks and snakeskin plus breeding pair blue diamonds.
5x2x2 cichlids (husband's idea - not mine)
4x2x2 grow out tank approx 20 discus juveniles
3ft breeding tank (marlboro reds)
3 ft breeding tank (red pearl)

Now that the (human) children have left home I've filled the house with fish tanks for the fishy children.
Looking forward to some interesting discussions!

Thanks for that. Took a lot of years to get that tank, but I just love it. Haven't told hubby, but I think the cichlid tank has to go to make way for more REAL fish. Now let's see - how many discus can I fit into a 5x2x2 ......... hmmmmm that's how many gallons ...............
