View Full Version : WHICH KIND OF DISCUS IS IN THE PICTURES?

HELLO,

MY NAME IS DANI.
I RECENTLY GOT A NEW DISCUS, AND THE SHOP WHERE I GOT THEM TOLD ME THAT THAY ARE LEOPARD SNAKESKIN.
I THINK THAT THAY ARE SOME KIND OF LEOPARD BUT NOT SNAKESKIN.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

hi mate my guess is there is no snakeskin in theses fish in the second photo some are showing 9 bar snakeskin should have fourteen also in the last pic the lines around the face and gills are to big(not fine lined) HTH

Welcome to the forum Dani.

It's possible the parents (or one parent) were snakeskins, but they don't always breed true, depending on the grandparents.

What you have there is a lovely group of red turquoise discus. Very nice shape, and well grown.

Enjoy them, they are lovely.

I have to agree with Ladyred and Nick, your fish are definitely Red Turquoise variant, nice looking fish.
