Hi People,

After visiting SLS this afternoon and coming away with a few more fishies for my tank - I am tempted to break the guidance of 1 fish per 40L.

My question is - how densely stocked do people have their tanks and accordingly what kind of maintenance do you follow?

Any problems arising from this ?

Yes you can exceed that limit, if you are prepared to do more waterchanges and more tank cleaning.

Problems arise when you have a power outage or your filter or airpump fails for some reason. Heavily overstocked tanks are the first ones to suffer, where you might get away with out any major problems in a tank with lighter stocking levels.

So I guess the answer is, yes it can be done, but it's not foolprooof and you need to be prepared for problems.
