I really like the Aqua clear 500. It is very cheap and you can place any media in it you want. I am using one on a 90 gallon tank.

ehiem is what you need.... especially for Discus

I got a 2213 on my 30gal... tank is CLEAN! and stays that way!

Generally I would suggest going for the best Eheim you can afford and if possible go for one slightly over what you need for the tank and throttle it back.
