Hi folks,

I finally got some metro for treating my 3 discus.
I had treated one of them a few weeks ago and thought he be all right forever WELL...anyway...
Just a Q's about aquarium salt...do i really needed it??
I am treating my 3 discus in a 40L hospital tank, i saw a sticky by goldenpigeon stating we should use aquarium salt, so i was just wondering how important are they???

hey there,

that sticky was for discus plague, it is a disease that rots the fish away therefore you need to use all you can to help them.

with hex i dont think there would be to much of an advantage with using salt. i have never treated hex so i couldnt tell you for sure but i would go with the metro first. keep the temperature high and maybe add a weakish dose of salt if you feel the need.

Im treating a badly infected discus with metro and salt and I think that the salt it does some extra ork. It enhances the metro effect. I use aquarium pharmacheuticals salt, 1 tablespoon per 20lt. I believe that it is better touse the salt. Good luck if you still cure them!
