Whats the likely hood of your heater exploding??

always purchase quality people and a get a new one every few years to play it safe.

Geeez Nick!

thats very lucky mate!

You could have been zapped! or worse still killed your fishes!

How did it happen? and what brand of heater was it.

safety switch is always the go!

my first port of call was to totally disconnect everything before sticking my hands in the tank. It makes me wonder should I do this normally anyway, I mean this could happen to anyone whilts during a water change????

fish were gasping for air , but they slowly seem to be coming around. Still surface swimming but now they are moving more mid stream.

heater is a JOHNLEN cs035-300 Taiwan product. Appx 4 years old

NO idea how it happened. just went to do a feed this morning and saw what I saw.

Oh my goodness. Nick you were very lucky, and so were your fish.

That's something we should all keep an eye on.

No telling what the expected life of a heater really is.
