I am new to discus and have a 200L (55 gal) with 4 discus in it.

The local aquarium owner said not to use a canister filter like I do with my oscars because of the current they produce.

What do most of you experienced people use. Is it ok with a canister or maybe a Jebo filter with a Fluidised biological filter added. If so what sized fluidised filter as I know nothing about them really.

Thanks.

Use a spray bar with your cannister. Point the water toward the surface so you can have air exchange too.

I agree with that statement

I have a discus that is 12 years old and spent all of its time in an aquarium using canister filters.

My new tank produces a flow of 62 Ltrs per minute on an 860 ltr tank and all fish are fine. I dont think you will get an issue with current using a canister filter
