Hi all,

Currently i am running a Fluval for my 250 litre tank.

What is the benefit of using Fibre Wool against Carbon???

At the moment i am using Carbon at the bottom, in the middle i use both BioMax and Carbon and the top layer i use BioBax.
Should i change take out the middle and bottom layers and replace it with fiber wool???

Fiber wool will catch the small things floating in the water.

Most likely, you don't use carbon unless you are trying to clean up after medication.

Ok so i should leave the top layer with BioMax and for Middle and Bottom Layer i should just use Fiber Wool???
How thick should i put in the Fiber Wool??

Just pack the fibre wool fairly loosely in the baskets. You want it thick enough so that it catches all the fine sediment, but not packed so tight that the water has trouble getting through. A layer about 3 to 4 cm thick would be just about right.

Only use your carbon when you want to remove medications from the water, after dosing for a particular disease.
