Hey guys, recognise this?
I've got a heap of them growing in two of my blackworm cultures. The little critters seem to be omnivorous as I've seen them eating the blackworm food, and although I've not seen them eating blackworms, there is less bw's in the cultures that have these little critters.
My fish seem to love them, and I've seen no ill effects in my fish at all.

Sorry, more info.
They are aquatic. nearly 1cm long, and about 2mm diameter. Water temp is 26deg

Looks like the larva of one of the various fly species that go through an aquatic stage. Most are omnivorous (some are carnivorous) and I wouldn't doubt that it would chew up a blackworm, given the opportunity.

I think Fred is on the money!

Maybe it could be the lavae of a small dragonfly?

I've dropped a couple into a covered jar. I'll let you know what hatches out!
