Have 2 red rose discus that are fussy with their food, all other discus in tank eat a variety of frozen and flake foods. the above 2 fish turn their noses up at everything except wrigglers, they scoff them down but all the other discus ignore them?????
Does anyone know a good way to convert them over to the more readily available food, thought they wld when they were hungry enough, to no avail???

Welcome to the discusforum.

Maybe try and not feed any mozzie larvae for a while, i believe they have a taste for it and will not eat anything else.

Give them time and they should come around, especially when they get hungry.

Keep us posted,

Thxs for the reply Ben. They definitely have a taste for them, but will not touch anything else even after a week without food. Have tried the starvation method and also wormed them. Will keep trying they may come round on something else. All the other discus no problems with fussy feeding habits.

Pete,

maybe feed them some live brineshrimp on and off for a week maybe 2, they love the taste of live BS.

Then start introducing some frozen BS, then if that works get them onto other frozen goodies like mysis shrimp and bloodworms.

Ok Ben will give them a go on the live BS, and hopefully can convert them over to the frozen that way. Thxs for the advise once again.
