I have been culturing mealworms for about six months and now have oodles of them. Seem to be a very cheap and easy food source. I didn't use the first generation in case they had been hormone treated to prevent pupation. This wasn't the case but I still havn't tried them on my discus as I have noticed the rather mean looking mouthparts on the larvae. This coupled with the apparent way discus hoover their food without chewing concerned me. Should I remove the heads just prior to feeding?

I tried in vain to get me discus to eat meal worms but no luck.

You will be fine to feed them whole with the heads on, just feed the smaller mealworms to your discus.
