Discus tapeworms, anchor worms, etc

This might sound as a stupid question, just wondering if such worms from our fish can actually transfer to another species like dogs, cats or even humans?

Josh, as far as I know, fish worms are species specific, and do not transfer, unless you actually eat them raw LOL.

It's because I caught my dog drinking the water from the bucket where I siphoned out a couple of tapeworm from my fish tank after de-worming my discus. I'm pretty sure he ingested the worms, (yuk!!) I de-wormed my dog just to be on the safe side. thanks ladyred :)
