Has anybody in here ever had a case of disease in a tank that had U.V ?

Conversely, how many people have never had disease in their tank with U.V ?

just had white spot in my uv tank

UV is designed to kill the free floating pathogens in the water, but it has to pass thru the UV to be killed.

I'ts just not possible for all the water in the tank to pass thru the uv at the same time, so some bugs will always be missed. The beauty of the UV is that it will kill MOST of the nasties in the water, and keep them to a level where the fishes own immune system can deal with it.

You can certainly still have an outbreak of white spot in a tank with UV, but it will be a lot less severe than if there was no UV on the tank.
