Hey Guys,

If I were to purchase a Fluval FX5 for a 250L 4 foot tank - would that be overkill ?

And would the FX5 be able to hookup to both a hydor inline 300w heater and a 36W pondmaster UV ?

Thanks

G

isnt that like 3500LPH??

Its good to keep the water clean, but thats gonna be like one of those artificial wave tanks, for practising your surfing!!!

Hehehe! I think the hose size might be a factor to take into account with both external UV and heater, but it might slow the flow down a bit... Have no experience with these units, ask our dear LadyRed

I think it would be overkill, however it would work, given that the 36w UV can accomodate the large 25-30mm (approx) hose. (bear in mind this UV unit is suitable for up to a 24,000L pond or aquaria).

Your washing machine would have less water movement that having a FX5 on a 4ft tank... lol

What speed is the FX5? LPH?

If it is any thing above 2000LPH, the hydor heater might have trouble heating the water as it passes through.
