Martin Ng was the former 2 term President of the Malaysian Discus Club, International show judge and author of Discus Catalogue.

I recently met up with him again at his discus farm.

Martin is working on developing some new strains atm. He's got quite a few RGD juveniles atm.

We had a long discussion on the red melon vs Red Golden Diamond issue and it was quite interesting. Martin still prefers to breed/sell the Red melons as they are easier (bigger percentage), develop colour faster, brighter as juveniles..... cheaper and people buy in larger volume. He breeds the newer RGD in small numbers.

He's currently working on RGD x clean Ghost discus. He believes this crossing will intensify the subdued red on the RGD. It's still in developmental stage.
