My discus are sick so i have treated them with metro and salt...problem is i lost 3 of my bn, one of which was a high quality one which i was planning on using for breeding...and one cory...

wat would be causing this, the metro or the salt or the 34 degree temperature??

Hi Sam i would say the salt I have used metro before and it did not effect my corys or bn but then i could have been lucky. I do remember reading that salt can effect corys and bn. LR will know for sure

Hi Sam, I answered this in the other thread, but I'll repeat it here.

Scaleless fish cannot tolerate salt of any kind, so that would have been the problem for your bristlenose, and the high temp would have been the end for your cory. They can't tolerate a high temperature.

Sorry you've had such bad luck with your fish mate.

With discus, most of the problems are caused by water quality, and a lot of problems can be eliminated by doing daily water changes in the main tank. When you're not sure what the problem is, the first thing to do, every time, is to do a water change. Sometimes just that simple thing is enough to correct the problem.
