Well here they are, five minutes in the tank, and not showing full colour yet (yes, I know I should have waited) Couldn't resist a photo shoot.

These guys are gorgeous. I think I'm in love :P

RGDs have no pigeon in their bloodlines, and never develop peppering DR.V ;) hence they are so sought after

Exactly right Benny. There is no black colour on these fish anywhere, due to the fact they have not been bred using pigeon blood breeding.

Most of the red strains are bred down from pigeon blood lines, and will show some peppering or a black edge on the dorsal and anal fin, or a black caudal fin.

Red Gold Diamonds are totally clean.

yeah i got 2 juvi RGDs from SLS. 3' size and excellent body shape. Cheers to Kev for that.

They are settling very well :lol: :lol:

As for forming a RGD club, I dont think i'll be any good. i will be leaching all the ideas form you more like it.

Awsome to hear they are spawning, best of luck with them with their current and future spawns. i will definatly put my hand up if you ever decide to sell any fry, they would look awsome with the albino's :wink: .... I'll do some new pics tomorrow. The fish have their full colour now, and they are even more gorgeous than before.

Now that I've confirmed the pairs, I'll move them into spawning tanks, and let them get on with the business of making lots of fry.

Can you confirm or disprove the theory that the red golden diamond males are red all over while the females don't have the red on the head? Or the other way around?

this theory is based on normal pigeon based reds not golds as far as im aware.
