Are those just concrete boxes that they have standing water in?

kevkoi
Thu Sep 08, 2005, 05:41 AM
Yes pyro... that's exactly how it's done in this part of the world.

Filters? What's that? Just a couple air bubbles will do...

Ben

Pyrowolf, most of them are concrete but there are fibreglass ponds aswell.

Here is a Pic of Sanie and me at the hotel.
Can anyone guess Sanie's age?
I was off by more than 12 years!

Thanks again for the tour Sanie!

Cheers,
Ben

This is how they do there water changes!
Most of the breeders i met dont like the use of sponge filters as it lowers the PH to much.

Ben
Thu Sep 08, 2005, 06:42 AM
I was lucky enough to meet Colin Heng from Royal Aquatic.
His fish house was truly amazing and his discus where of the best quality!

Ben

Thats true Nick!
Talking to some breeders and it is similar with the red melons.
If a red melon has more depth of red in the body it will be a female.
To be honest i am not totally sure.....

I would like to say a big thank you to Andrew Soh for showing me around Singapore and treating me to some awesome food!
(i will have to keep a look out for a restaraunt in Melbourne that sells pigs intestine! heheheheh)

I would like to thank Sanie for showing me around Singapore and inviting me into his house and showing me his special discus!
(some of the biggest discus i have ever seen!)

Thanks goes to Roy Khoo for allowing me to see his farm and to all the other discus breeders in Singapore! allowing me to have a sneak peak in thier secret rooms!

When the next aquarama is on in Singapore i will make another visit and will stay for much longer.

Once again Thank again to all!

Ben
