HI GUYS,
Just wanting to ask your thoughts on a idea tank size for breeding i hear 40 G, but what is that in size 500x500x500mm? or should i look at a larger tank?

About 30g is a good size.
You can use a 30x14x18 or 24x18x18 for example.
But the truth is you can use anything from say 30g to 60g as i know a few people who use 36x14x18 and 48x14x18 as breeding tanks with no problems.
Hope that helps.. Oscar

Thanks oscar, that helps me alot. I have seen the smaller square size tanks and i would think they will cost more to get those made then a standard 36x14x18" tank i can buy for $90 at the LFS. So i guess if they are going to be happy enough in a standard 3 footer i'll try that and see how i go.
Many Thanks

That's ok glad I could help.
Are from Melbourne?
If so go to Mentone aquarium as you can get a standard 3ft for less than $50
