Hi Jim,

I don't know if all discus like them or not, mine does.
This is similar to java moss, but the color is much2 better. bright green at the top.

Riccia is naturally a floating plant.
You need to attach it to something to keep it submerge.

The link by Del above should explain regarding Riccia.

does it need to be held permanently to a piece of driftwood? or after a while will it sort of weave itself together and not fall off?

That gel stuff...it's some sort of algae. Not sure what it's called. Normally I just prune the top part.

Stonx,

Do you have any riccia still for sale? I bought some off you a couple of months ago but it did not grow very well as I discovered that I had 0 KH. I have since rectified that and the plants are going beserk. I would like to try it again.

Dave.

Hi Dave

I'm sorry that it didn't go well for you last time. I never bother checking KH, seems it grow pretty well in mine.

I don't have much left. Tomorow a guy is coming over to pickup his then 2 more lining up for some. I'll let you know ok.

Thanks
Hendry

Hendry,

It grew ok but the problem was the algae outbreak caused by a fert imbalance. I think (I hope) I have it under control now.

Dave.
