snails?

can anyone tell me what snails are safe for my planted tanks? what snails will eat the most algea? also safe with discus.

Tyler, I have found from personal experience that no snails do well in a discus tank, because of the high temperatures we have our water.

Maybe others have had some different experiences, but mine were all bad.

unfortunately as soon as they hit the water i think their dead, similar experiences by the sound of it to ladyred

Put some catfish or Siamese Algae Eaters instead of snail to get rid of algae.

Yeah snails don't do well in Discua tanks, and also if they did well then you would not have any plants left in your tank, as well as 50 more than what you started with. Bristlenose do the best in my tank, don't go with Siamese Algae eaters as they suck on the discus skin and scar them. Speaking from experience

I have had SAE's for years with my discus and have never seen them suck on them. They are great algae eaters when they are young but when they get old they get lazy and tend to only eat flakes, granules etc.
