Is it common for discus to pull plants out. Or is it more likely that they are coming out because the discus are swimming through them. I suppose I will just have to plant them better. (ie. ex baby food jars are actually coming in handy for something! ) Tomorrow have some work to do, replant: 2 java fern, cabomba, elodea, anubias..... also How long does it take for these lovely fishies to settle into a heirachy, there's quite abit of chasing going on in my tank, is this natural? I have seen a couple of head butting incidents, no one seems to be getting hurt so I'm just letting them be..

Hi Sammi, no it's not common for dicus to pull plants up. I think you'll find it's happening when they swim thru the plants.

The pushing and shoving is normal as discus settle into a pecking order. There will always be some agression, but it will settle to a tolerable level.

Sounds like they're doing well.

Keep up the good work. :P
