I've got 2 discus in a 55 gal planted tank that are about 2 years old. Unfortunately, do to my own ignorance at the time they are not full size (although I think one was a runt to begin with, I read somewhere that is becoming fairly common). Anyway I was wanting to add some more, probably 2 reds or turqs and 2 pb, figure that should max out my tank. Is it okay to add juvis, I always read about growing them out in a separate tank. Or should I add adults. Don't want to stunt the growth of anymore.

If you do add juv's make sure you add more than at a time. The larger adults will probably pick on the smaller ones so if you add 2 or 3 this will spread the aggresion.

Thanks, I would probably add two or four at the same time.

If possible go for the same size fish.

less chance of getting bullied.

however you might find a power struggle regardless as they estabilish the hierarchy.

Adding four new fish at a time is certainly the best way to minimize aggression.

I think you'll find it will all work out fine.

Thanks, didn't know adding more at once would reduce aggression. The larger one is kind of a bully
