Hi, i know this isnt a discus related question but im sure someone here will be able to answer it for me. I recently bought some clown loaches to go into the discus tank and one of them has got really fat. Do they get fat before they spawn or is it just over eating?

They say that clown loaches will not breed in captivity so I say it will not spawn I have also heard that the male clown loaches will be fatter and more bigger than the female so it is probably a healthy eater.

Yes clownies prone to getting a nice rotund belly means healthy and loves to eat.

Just keep an eye on him, because I have about 5x clown loaches in my tank that I have had for about a year now, and last week I lost two, and they were fat. Maybe bloat, from over- eating, because they are little piggies!!
