Otto's and Siamese algae eaters are also great.

i keep bristle-noses and to growing gibbiceps, also whip-tails and farowella. you could also get a normal pleco. i think from memory otto's do the best job but you need a little shoal of them. i hope to get some soon

Pleco's sometimes like to look at the discus slim coat as a delicacy... i know we've lost some where i work at before cause a gold nugget pleco that was in the show tank with a few discus was going on them at night...

you could distinctivaly see the spots where the pleco went on the fish... we lost 4, only one survived, they were 4-5" too... took some time before we realized what was happening...

all that to say, imo, be very carefull wich kind of pleco you get... :P

i think if the plecs are very well fed, like heaps of food they leave the discus alone?

Nah Junior, they don't. Once they have a taste for discus slime, they will pester them continually.
