Anyone keep their Discus in a "community" set up? Much luck?

It can be done, and a lot of people do it quite successfully.

I think the secret is to make sure the discus is the dominant fish in the tank. In other words, set the tank up as if it for discus alone, and then choose companion fish that are suited to those conditions.

Most of the small tetras make good companions, as do cory cats and the bristlenose family. Stay away from Angel fish and anything that is a known fin niper.

Okay excellent, I'll keep that in mind. How do Parkinsoni and Praecox Rainbows go with Discus?

we have 3 discus (more on the way with new tank being set up). with that we have:
4 x bristle nose
1x cherry barb
1x ghost knife

the discus leave the others alone and they leave the discus alone.
