hey guys

i was wondering if an of you use ammonia balls in your tanks?
i've seen a few LFs with discus use these balls. i believe the oakleigh Aq in mebourne uses them,

can they hurt the discus? are they a bad thing? or shouldn;t i keep doscus without one?

how do they effect the biological cycle of the tank ? if at all

i'd love to hear your thoughts and experiances using ammonia balls with your discus..

They are a pretty good thing Stuart. Especially if you couldn't get to do water changes for a couple of days, or in the fry tank where you are feeding heavily.

I don't use them in normal tanks. If your bio filter is working well, they shouldn't be needed.
