new pb's from Moses ( aka mopondo )

here are a few quick snaps i took today of my three new pigeon blood discus i got from a fellow df member just yesterday.

thay have settled in very well (appart from being harrassed by their new tank mates)

i'll take some better pics soon

they have settled in even more now...not getting hasstled so much...thanks god

this one is almost completely solid in colour...almost no usual pb markings.

the camera doesn't do it justice...it has a wonderfull pale apricot colour

oh and as usual, the red turq is guarding some eggs for it's lesbian lover (most of the eggs have been eaten by the red melon who absolutely loves the taste of caviar)

i really like it's darker breeding colours you can sort of see here

how come the eggs are orange??
my red marlboro pair lay some yellowish colour, but never orange ??

egg colour varies from fish to fish

a lot of it depends in their diet. my discus eat a lot of tetra colour bits and i add astaxanthin powder to their beef heart mix. colour enhancers also add colour to eggs.

i don't think it makes a difference what colour the eggs are though. i have had fish that have laid almost clear eggs in the past

yes they are pigeon blood discus....just very clean

in fact they boaredr on being called malbros due to the location of their markings.... but have never seen marbros with this colouring

If they're beautiful and you like it, it doesn't matter what you call them.............
Be it PB, Golden Pigeon or Marlboro............Who cares..........
