Hi Leanne, I am originaly from Queensland, born in Rockhampton (Central Qld ... yes Qld is much more than north and south east) and studied uni in Brisbane. Most of my family now lives in Sunshine coast and Brisbane.

I would definitely check out the sunshine coast. I have been to Cairns ... could never work out what the fuss was about ... no real beaches ... stingers. I guess it has some nice rain forest, fishing and ofcourse access to excellent scuba diving .... gee I guess that sounds alright ... thinking about it. ;)

Go Victoria.
We have some of the best beaches in the world, best fishing, great sking, fantastic wineries, Melbourne's been voted most livable city in the world twice, best restaurants, great theater, biggest casino, close to the bush for those who love bird watching and picnics etc,etc etc. Almost forgot we still have affordable housing close to town and the most important thing is our water is perfect for discus keeping.

leanne31
Mon May 02, 2005, 03:47 AM
You obviously dont watch the same football I do as theres heaps of punch ups. Rugbys a pussys game do a bad tackle and you get suspended its just like red rover all over. But not to worry david your still young still time to convert before your brain gets to poisoned

kalebjarrod
Mon May 02, 2005, 06:52 AM
LOL

let me just say that this weekend the bottom two teams of the AFL got more spectators to ONE game than all the NRLs together

LOL

NRL also play there games in 80 mins OUR QUATERS CAN LAST OVER 30 MINS

Don't play silly games

both games are so different, one is an athletic contest and the other is a struggle of strength

(pitty AFL is so much better)

We're bottom but that only temporary.
With all our injurys we can't expect to much. Anyway looks like we're chasing Jonathon Brown from Brisbane. $3,000,000 for a 3 year deal how can he say no.

I dont think you'll stay bottom to long either but regarding Jonathon Brown take a look at the article at afl.com.au you might be disappointed.

:(
Money does talk no matter what he says. Remember he still has to play in Brisbane this year so he might not want to make any waves. Also you can be sure his managment will be pushing Brisbane for a top $ deal and using the collingwood offer to bargain with. He'll probably stay put but I can guarantee you because of Collingwood massive offer Brisbane will have to offer a lot more than he's currently on just to make sure he does stay.

its funny that eddie was bagging Brownie the week before the presidents approval of a 3,000,000 dollar cost

and by the way

Please be advised that Jonathan Brown has asked for the following statement to be circulated to the media on his behalf.

STATEMENT FROM BRISBANE LIONS PLAYER JONATHAN BROWN

The speculation about my playing future has got a lot bigger over the last week and I don’t want my personal issues to be any form of distraction for my team or the club.

With that in mind, I sat down last night and had a long think about my future. I also talked to those people who are closest to me and whose opinions I respect the most.

At the end of the day, I knew in my heart that I wanted to stay with my mates and keep playing with the club that I supported as a kid.

So I have committed myself to playing for the Brisbane Lions for the coming years.

Footy has always been very good to me, and I really enjoy the lifestyle in Brisbane and playing alongside such a great bunch of blokes.

We still have a lot to achieve as a club, and I’m looking forward to taking on all the challenges ahead with Leigh Matthews, who I’ve got a lot of faith in, and the rest of the boys.

I’m one for looking forward and not back, so now that I’ve made my decision I won’t be talking any more about contracts.

We’ve got a big game against the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba on Saturday night and that now has all my focus.
