View Full Version : my lightly planted discus tank

Hi every one;
I just wanted to let every body to see how i have planted my BB tank.

The tank is 500 l and i have 6 adult discus, nitrate is less than 5 ppm.
There is no fertilizer and the plant only use fish waste ,the tank has been in this form for about 10 months.

Wow this looks amazing! And what beautiful Discus you have! 500 liters omg thats huge haha :)
Can i ask you where you got the little black plants holders? They would be perfect for my tank too!

Hi Sabrina;
Thanks for the kind words , you go to bunnings ,they are black plastics to hold metal mesh when they make concrete drive ways ,they cost $ 9.95 for 10 of them ,you then cut one side with hacksaw and wala you have a plant holder and best of all you don't get food ,poop etc stuck underneath so you can vacuum your tank in 5 minute literally.

Oh wonderful, thank you so much! I have sand in my tank though, but not deep enough to plant the roots so these holders will be perfect. And i have
Albino Corydora Catfish whom clean my tank for me on the most part, the discus dont even bat an eye when a Cory goes flying buy anymore lol :)
