Hey guys,
As the title suggests.
My tank is 28 during the morning and heats up to about 30 degress in the late evening.

Are slight 2 degree fluctuations gradually during the whole day ok for Discus?
Ive been told stable conditions are what we are all looking for.

Sorry for such a newbie question.

Been trying to re search it and came up with all sorts of answers.

Cheers
Rory

2C over a day is fine, the lights on my tank are capable of heating the water by an additional 2C.

As seaid above keep an eye on it in summer and try not to let the tank get above 32C-34C for any extended period of time

Yeah its the lights that are doing it.

They heat the tank up but theyre under my hood cabinet.

Thinking of making a brace to extend them above the tank.

Thanks for the feedback.

You must be getting sick of all my questions Illusn! lol

I had the same problem running metal halides in an enclosed hood. I setup computer fans to blow accross the surface of the tank. Works really well but I lose heaps of water to evaporation.
