Preventative medications

Just wondering is there anything you can add to the water to prevent illness or disease in discus?. I was looking at the prevention rather then cure. I know keeping the tank water clean and stable is a must also.

if you also keep a strict quarantine system in place for new arrivals, the use of preventative meds won't be needed.also keep everything very clean ei never use nets from other tanks and when buying second hand equipment sterilise well.one last thing buy your fish from a trusted source so they are healthy from the start then you should have very little problems .
