hiya people. i joined this forum as it seems a great place for info and ideas . ive been keeping discus for about a year now in a 6 x 2 x 2 and a 3ft breeding tank . just the standard varieties turq pigeons eruptions etc . bit ive started a new 4ft aqua one r120 tank
this will be housing 4 wild blues hopefully :P but i wont be ready for them for at least a month or two . even though the canister ( aquaone 2250 ) was running my 6ft for the last six months ( replace it with a fx5 ) i want the tank to setlle in a bit.
the water is still slightly cloudly as its just been filled and the log is still floating a bit .
the stock for this tank will be
4 x wild blues
around 20 neons or cardinals
4-5 l333's

i used a ultra fine black quartz sand

the water is still slightly cloudy as its just been filled and the log is also floating a bit. the rocks are actually hollow so the Ls can hide inside

what do you guys think of the layout?

Welcome to the forum lou1.

Good looking tank. Love that background. Can you tell us some more about it.

the background i got from a australian reptile supplier www.reptiledirect.com.au ( they are also on ebay ), when i was searching google for some sort of background latex ones were way out of my budget ( some were $700+ ) so the next best thing was a polyurethane backing , the main issue was that i couldnt get a solid 4ft long piece as the tank brace was in the way. i ended up finding that backing it is normally used for frogs , the fact that it has deep vertical lines hides the join fairly well. its 2 x 2ft peices
i still need to get some sort of ground cover plant for the tank ( Elatine gratioloides or maybe dwarf baby tears? any suggestions ? ) and then thats it for plants
