How Long Does Bacteria Last?

Hi Guys,

I am treating my tank at the moment with prazi, it says to wash filter media after 48 hours.

I am running 2 filters, so I have turned 1 off to save washing out both of them and to try and conserve the bacteria.

So I was wondering how long the bacteria will last without warm tank water running through it? Am I wasting my time and should just leave both filters on?

Don't think it'll be full of "good" bacteria after 48 hours, 3 or 3 hours max l thought, but I'm sure someone who knows more than me will point you in the right direction.
