Bought 2 discus this week from a guy I shouldn't have. BUT they looked super healthy and were eating fine - put them in my quarentine tank - one still is acting normal and looks great - the other shows signs of stress - this morning has been about the 5th day theyv'e been here and the stressed one looked worse - on close examination I see a white fungus/ something appearing on his body folowing the lines of his coloration. Scribble - so the white follows the pattern - what is it and any help on curing it and what should I do with the healthy looking one - probobly treat to - please help.

Could be excess slime from ph or temp stress you could try a little salt in the water to ease the osmotic stress. Is the fish eating? Has it eaten since you got it home? Are the eyes clear or cloudy?

What size fish & QT tank? How much air?

I would follow the 3 week quarantine regimen found on this forum.
Lots of clean water and maybe some artificial plants for "privacy" to reduce stress.

Reading into the original post maybe you have improved the fish's environment and the slime coat is a positive result..

Any chance of a few pics... :D
