Just wondering how long it takes for a ph test to work so you know the correct colour?. I test mine and shortly after it is a blue/green colour and then when I leave it for longer (a few hours) it turns yellow, which is what I want. What is the correct amount of time to wait for the colour to change?.

I have the PH testing kit that you put 5ml tank water in a tube and then add two drops of blue coloured liquid.

Thanks.

All the Ph test kits I've ever used are instant, so what you get after adding the reagent is the correct reading. Leaving it has no effect on the result and the change in colour is due to a break down of the chemical, not a change in Ph of the water.
If your water is reading "blue/green" at the point of testing, then it's alkaline tending neutral. Discus are happy in neutral water but if you intend on breeding eventually then I'd suggest slowly getting your water more acidic Ph6.0 -6.5
