Hi All,

Just a quick question if their ever is such a thing...
When ageing water in a container for me it's a 220L water drum.
Is it best to have a airstone or a water pump to circulate the water whilst waiting for it to age ?

I have both handy but want to know whats best.

Hi Peter,
I normally use an airstone.

I've used bot and both work just as well all you need is circulation. i find an airstone cheeper in terms of running costs over a pump, as i have excess capacity in my fishroom airpump.

I am using a pump, in a 220lt food grade drum, primarily to make sure the additives (supachlor & Tropical Conditioner) are evenly distribuited through the water.

I use a pump. I like to watch the swirling water. Somtimes I think about jumping into my big 240 litre rolla when its at 28 deg.

Thanks Guys,

I think I will go with a Pump/Power Head seeing as though I will be filling the water drum with R/O water and adding additives before doing W/Regards

airstone is nice as its cheap and is oxygenating the water.

i use seachem SAFE also, its cost effective and the dose rate is TINY!!!

Hi ILLUSN

I was just comparing it to a friend of mine down in MLB his tap water is at only 60 ppm, So I see Sydney as being twice as bad as another state thats all. I know that some places in the US get to around 500 ppm now thats realy bad.....
