Hey,

Well my Apistogramma inka 50 fry are doing well and I'm thinking of separating them from the mum but not sure what is the best way??

Try net them? Siphon them?

Thanks

How old are the fry Marty. Might it just be easier (and less traumatic for the fry) to just move mum?

If you really have to move them out of the tank a good method is to wait until after lights out when the mum willbring them all back to the pot or shell. Quickly lift the lid and syphon out into a waiting tub of tank water. As they are all grouped together they are all done quickly. I would personally leave until they are big enough to be netted

Marty, I'm with Merrilyn - I would relocate the parent fish who will cope far more readily with the capture and relocation. IF you move the fish take the tank water with them to minimise environmental changes.

take care
