Okay, we're all proud of our fish and our planted tanks. How about posting some photos of what you've got.

Tell us a little bit about the fish, if they've raised fry, and how old they are now.

If you've got a magnificent planted tank that is your pride and joy, then we want to see it.

Okay, dust off those cameras and start posting.:P

This fella I cheated and bought him as a full grown so I can't take any of the credit for how beautiful he is. I have had him for around 15 months (guessing) so I don't really know how old he is. I left his female behind didn't have the $$ at then time and now I am kicking myself. I think he is my favourite fish in my tank.

This is how my babies started out. Such little cuties. August 2008.

Beautiful fish Merrilyn. You have a very nice set up. Have you ever had any problems with the angels and discus mixed? I know they come from the same waters but I was told (I dont think its true) not to mix angels and discus because the angel can give discus diff. illnesses that they carry. I know you know what you are doing I was just surprised. I guess it was another thing I was told from the local pet store that was wrong.

I have wild Scalares in with domestic discus, have done for over a year now, they mix well imo

That's a great question.

The fish I have together are wild caught altums and wild caught heckels. Both types of fish had been through a very thorough de-parasite treatment and had been quarantined for over 12 months before being placed in the same tank.

I wouldn't ever put domestic discus and and domestic angels together for all the reasons you have mentioned, together with the fact that domestic angels will out compete discus for food every time.

Yeah, they are showing the old stress bars a bit,
They are all very well looked after, good food, weekly water changes
2x ehiem 2028 for filtration.

I do have eco complete and a black background that could be the cause ?

also the pic were taken a day or so after spawning so could be stressed keeping away the loaches.

Are stress bars a definite indication of something wrong ????

Here he is all washed out (different camera though) and a few days later he has darkened up and turned fluro lol
