Hi all,

It's a sad day for me - After my recent time away I've decided to sell my Discus setup complete. Our rental has just been listed for sale also which doesn't help  so until we work out where we are going to end up it's probably best to move them on to someone with more time to dedicate them.. :(

The sale comprises the wall unit that houses 2x standard 4ftr's, single batten T8 lights hardwired (easily upgraded if required), sump (includ' media) and 3500lph return pump. Don't forget, heaps of storage space!! Either tank can be completely isolated from the system if required and flow into each tank is adjustable separately if desired.

The cabinet was built by a qualified cabinet maker (ME :D). All joints are silicone sealed to prevent water issues and the facade is Walnut timber veneer. The facade and doors are completely removable for ease of transport. Total time to assemble/disassemble from empty is about 30min - very easy!

It measures just under 2m (so fits through a standard doorway), about 1.7m wide and 450 deep so it doesn't protrude out from the wall more than a standard bookshelf.

As for the Discus, there's 2 confirmed pairs. 1. Blue Diamonds and 2. Sunset Beauty/Orange Cover (although it may be SB/Red Rose - pics will show ). There's also a large Red Rose and Alanquer. 6 fish in total.

I'll include a couple of breeding cones and sponge filters etc along with other bits and pieces I have laying around.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the system. I'm ideally looking for someone to take the lot, hence the heavy discount..

Cabinet setup $800ono
6 Discus $600

The lot $1000!!

Hey Scott,

Consider it a "short break". The $$ from this sale will go directly into the piggy bank till the dust settles. Some of the toys are being used at the moment on my planted 2ft cube - have a look in the shrimp section of AL.

Sure you don't NEED some more Discus - I know a guy.. :P

Hi there
Just letting you know that if you decide to part the fish separately i'll be interested in the Red Rose which I spoke to you earlier today on the phone.
cheers

I'd prefer to sell the fish as a lot for the moment unless I get enough interest in them as pairs and individuals to account for them all, I don't want to be left with a couple of stragglers..
For the record, the Blue Diamonds are a confirmed pair as per the pics - the 2nd pair is a bit more difficult. If you refer to the 5th pic of the fish, it shows 3 fish all caring for a clutch of eggs without any aggression between any of them so it's hard to say if it's the SB/OC or the SB/RR that are the true pair.. All I know is that they get wrigglers everytime between the 3 of them.. ?? Therefore I'm pretty reluctant to split this trio as I might well be busting up a pair accidently.

A quick update - the RR and SB are in the process of spawning as I type this with the OC at the far end of the tank, so I guess that narrows it down :D

Thanks for kind endorsement Matt - I wish you had space for it too ;)

It transports really well Biggie... everyone needs to visit this great part of the world. Go on, treat yourself :D

Hi TW,

I'm not leaving the hobby entirely, just down sizing while we shift around again. I currently have a small (pseudo hi-tech) planted shrimp tank on the go as I recently discovered this aspect of the hobby. So far it's been a great learning process and my kids have loved watching it all take shape. You can see it here if you like. http://www.aquariumlife.com.au/showthread.php/23507-My-first-CRS-tank..
As soon as I can I'll be back to Discus with something bigger and better.. :D

No thanks. I already have a 2ft cube and I'm trying to downsize for the time being. Cheers ;)

The tank setup still needs a home.. I'm happy to negotiate on the price if it helps.

BUMP..........

C'mon guys and gals!! The discus have found a happy home, now I need to move the cabinet on since it looks like I'm moving soon.

I had a buyer fall though recently because they suffered the same fait as me at the last minute - damn rental market :x

Asking $800 - I'm happy to negotiate.

Thanks for the kind endorsement Taksan.

Courtesy of my employer I move around a lot, so this unit is designed and built to travel, so interstate buyers are more than welcome.

Many removalists over cheap rates when they're returning to their home states because they otherwise have an empty truck - food for thought..

When empty, I can have all the timber facade and doors off and tanks out in about 30min and I can move the main cabinet (the white bit) without assistance, so it's not as intimidating as it may look to some.

Inspections are welcome..

Just face it Swampy - your stuck with the cabinet, so you may as well refill the tanks and get some stock :D

Cant say you didn't try!!!

Not stuck - just holding on to it for "someone".

Believe me, if I had the time to dedicate to the fish I wouldn't have sold them or the setup..

I've scaled back to a 2ft planted cube for the timebeing. It's fun, but nothing like my Discus :(
