Hey everyone

So i set up a new bb tank for my discus and popped them in there on Sunday, so I sat back to admire my fish and they just didn't look right so I quickly grabbed the only 2 test kits i own (ph & ammonia) ammonia was fine but I checked the ph in the new tank and it was at about 7.8!!! Testes the water from the tank they just came from 6.6 roughly! So then the big panic and mad dash was made to get the discus back in their original tank. One of the little guys doesn't seem to be doing all that well he hides a lot stress bars showing not eating any suggestions on what I can do?

Hi mitsui
I would just be doing plenty of water changes .That should help them .
I wouldnt have put them back into there old tank as you did though .I have read that going from water of say 6.6 to 7.8 wont hurt your fish they might just be a bit unhappy for a few days but going from 7.8 to 6.6 they can get ph shock which can be fatal.
