I HAVE 5 DISCUS IN A COMMUNITY TANK.
ONE PAIR SPAWNED AND THE FEMALE ATE THE EGGS ON THE SECOND DAY.
THE MALE HAS STOPPED EATING STRAIGHT AWAY FOR THE LAST 10-14 DAYS BUT STILL SOCIALISES WITH THE OTHERS & HIS PARTNER.
HIS DISCARGE APPEARS LIKE A THIN WHITE RIBBON.

STILL APPEARS IN REASONABLE CONDITION DISPITE NOT EATING. :(

ANY IDEAS WHAT THE PROBLEM OR SOLUTION IS ?

I TRIED FEEDING LIVE BLACK WORMS - HE ATE A FEW BUT NOT A LOT OF DIFFERANCE.

WATER QUALITY IS GOOD PH 6.8

THANKS,
RAY

sounds like worms. Have you wormed your fish?? I would firstly do a worming round of of Big L. It is a pig and poultry wormer. You can get it at farming supplies. You will need to worm the whole tank. There is a sticky about this in the sickness section I think.

big L is good but it only kills round worms do a follow up with prazi to kill flat worms, remember to do a nice big water change after treatment with A good gravel vac to remove all dead waorms and eggs, the bigger the water change the better so as scaless fish arnt too adversl effected by the medication.
