Hi Margaret,

The fish you show is a beauty. It shows many desirable traits. The photos you have taken are great to be able to make an assessment.
The body shape is good, showing a nice round shape, the fins both dorsal and anal are in good proportion to eachother with a nice transition from the forehead to the hard rays. The forehead is a nice shape, eye size is good and in position. Caudal fin is good, no damage or deformity. The pelvic fins look long and are not deformed. The fish has a good strong colour with good contrast between base and spotting.

On the downside, a shame about the small rip in the anal fin, but it will heal, so no big deal. The eye colour is a little dark, but more a strain trait, but a solid red would be more desirable. I see a small saddle over the nose of the fish which distracts from the nise smooth head shape. Even though the fish has good colour and spotting, there are some spot free areas, or a bit patchy.

Overall, though a lovely fish and I would love to see it in one of my tanks. Good luck with the breeding Margaret :D

Hi Margaret,

I'd be interested to know where you got them if you're happy to share?

Best of luck with the breeding and hope to see a post in the classifieds for Juvies soon :)
